Honeydrop's brand of sound falls into a category of what you might call "cocoon music". It's a serene and melancholic blend of intelligent pop, full of soothing hushes, that subdues and then invites listener to their personal comfort caves. From Jeriel's almost jazzy showmanship to that jangly call-response rhythms of Tram & Karl and the hounding basslines of Jud – it's easy to tell that everything’s calculated and tailored to a clear-cut cohesiveness, emanating a lush dreamlike vibe all accentuated by frontwoman Vanya's breathy cooing and crooning.

While most bands get away with their distortion-heavy riffs and devil-may-care demeanor, Honeydrop presents their timid almost-minimalist sound escapes (or “freedom" and "sun” according to the chorus of their early track called ‘The Place’). It may not be an all-out ‘lets-destroy-everything-and-then-rebuild’ rock and roll, but it’s honest music that the world needs more of these days.
